It’s a transformative experience to simply pause instead of immediately fill up the space. By waiting, we begin to connect with fundamental restlessness as well as fundamental spaciousness.

Just for today

Susan Lloyd is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience helping individuals on a variety of challenges including addiction, disordered eating, trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, LGBTQI+ identity/coming out, career transitions, grief/loss and health concerns.  She received her Bachelor's Degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago & Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration.  Susan has worked in corporate, higher education and hospital settings and is amazed by what therapy can bring to someone’s life having experienced this personally and as a practitioner.

Susan offers an empathetic and warm approach focused on creating an environment of honesty, encouragement and safety to access deeper aspects of oneself and live a more full life. She views therapy as a collaboration where you work together to build upon your personal strengths and resources to heal from loss, trauma or emotional difficulties and let go of old habits and behaviors that are no longer helpful.

Susan works from relational, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches to best meet client goals. Susan has completed an externship in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) with Dr. Sue Johnson in Toronto, Canada.   She is Certified in Assessing and Treating Sexual Issues in Psychotherapy by the Institute for Relational Therapy, a Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC) and an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)-trained clinician by the International Association.  EMDR is effective for treating trauma, other distressing experiences (PTSD, anxiety, depression and panic disorders) along with negative belief patterns.

If you’re looking for individual therapy with someone who cares, then you’ve come to the right place. Let's figure out where you are stuck and uncover your best life.
